Come along to our morning of family fun for reading and writing inspiration galore and activities for all ages, from 2 to 15! From a graphic novel workshop and children's open mic to craft activities and story time with children's laureate Joseph Coelho, there's something for everyone. Adults go free to this event - just buy a ticket for each child for one of the sessions, and sign up to as many sessions as you like on the day for free. Free snacks and lunch for all children.

Craft time (10-10.45am): Glue, paint and create with Afrori Books' legendary Saturday morning craft time. Our most popular event! 

Hidden Sussex Workshop (10-11.00am): Are you an aspiring writer, artist or illustrator? Would you like to learn how to make your ideas a reality? Then join this creative workshop for young people aged 11-16. You will have a chance to write, create art and (re)imagine how you belong in this place called Sussex, led by writers and artists published in the anthology Hidden Sussex. The workshop is led by: Dulani Kulasinghe, a writer and teacher whose creative practice explores belonging, contested histories and legacies of empire; and Jill Carpin, an artist and digital designer whose illustration and animation are influenced by her family roots in the Seychelles.

Children's Open Mic (10.45-11.45am): Calling all budding poets and writers! This is your time to share your talents with friends and family. Bring your piece along and perform it, with writers AFLO.the poet and Roy McFarlane on hand to help you polish it first.

Illustration Workshop (11.30-12.30pm): Amanda Quartey, Illustrator and Manjeet Mann, Author join forces to bring your their exciting workshop where budding artists will get a chance to hone their skills and use them later to enter a Sussex competition with Ditchling Museum of Art +Craft.

Storytime (11.00-12.30): Children's Laureate Joseph Coelho will bring his captivating storytelling skills to leave children spellbound, with special guest, J.J Bola and 12-year-old author Sarah Kittoe
