This time of year is one of the busiest for us as we meet with publishing houses, dream up exciting ideas, and work tirelessly to prepare the programme for the 2025 festival.

The festival is more than just a celebration of books; it’s a space where voices from all walks of life are uplifted and celebrated. At the heart of our mission is a commitment to creating platforms for marginalised authors and creatives while ensuring that the festival remains accessible to everyone. It’s a huge responsibility, but it’s one we’re passionate about carrying forward.

Looking back, we’re filled with joy as we remember the magical moments of the last festival. Who could forget the Poetry Café, where words flowed like music, creating an intimate space for connection and creativity? It was a haven for poetry lovers and curious newcomers alike, where every voice had its moment to shine.

Then there were the writer’s workshops—places of discovery, learning, and growth. From honing the art of storytelling to understanding the ins and outs of the publishing world, these workshops were buzzing with creativity and energy. Watching attendees walk away with newfound confidence and skills was nothing short of inspiring.

All of this is made possible by our extraordinary team. We’re endlessly grateful to our directors, who pour their hearts and souls into this festival, and to our faithful volunteers, who give their time, passion, and energy all year round. Their dedication ensures that Brighton Book Festival continues to thrive and grow.
